Who am i?
Maybe one of the most fundamental questions that humans have every asked ourselves ever since we could ask. Who am i? I'm Atharva Dhamanakar.
I like to ask questions and try to find answers. As a result the concept of asking questions and discovering things as a lifetime job facinates me. For me research is not just a job but an oppourtunity to ask questions and learn from people who are better than me.
Just like everyone else, im trying to find my place in this world and luckily I've been blessed by supportive friends and mentors who have guided me and my thought process into being the best me that I posibbly can be.
Im a firm believer in the socratic method and in the fact that if you no longer understand something, break it down and ask yourself what do you know. Keep on stripping away layers until you reach something that you can bet your life on. From there start building up slowly one step at a time.
This helps in both knowing what you know and understanding what you don't. That itself solves most of your problem.
Though i am predominantly a computer science major, id consider myself to be free flowing amongst multiple disciplines. I feel labeling yourself restricts you to a certain set of rules which you are forced to abide by. By staying multi disciplinary you can gain expertise in one field and at the same time branch into related fields, find overlaps and apply knowledge and techniques from one field into another. For me my dominant field is Artifical Intelligence which itself being applicable in multiple fields allows me to maintain a multidisciplinary status.
If i were to describe myself in three words, I'd say versatile, resourceful and tenacious. This combination makes me a very robust problem solver since i have multiple potential solutions to problems, different alternatives to implement them and the drive to keep on working on them until im satisfied with the results. I'm quick on my feet (and my mind) & am always ready with alternative options if one paths is to fail.
